Job summary: Provide hand-on technical support to Engineering for RF testing and analysis; pre-production prototyping, electronics trouble-shooting and failure analysis, manufacturing, final assembly and testing of various Tachyon products and solutions.

Essential duties & responsibilities: Utilize various RF and electronic test equipment and software to perform a wide range of automated and manual test procedures.

Primary role in all Engineering/Manufacturing soldering tasks required for prototyping and production, as well as RMA Miniature/Micro-miniature (2M) repair.

Primary role in Engineering/Manufacturing electronic electrical and mechanical assembly.

Assist Engineering in electronic trouble-shooting and fault analysis of all products.

Work experiences: Responsible for measuring, reporting, analyzing and debugging power consumption of cell phones at battery and component levels under GSM, WCDMA and HSDPA wireless environments. The power measurements are collected under scenarios that cause high activity on modems and application blocks of the hardware.

Test and trouble-shoot high-density VoIP media gateways that provide interworking between a packed cable managed IP Network and Public switched telephone network.

2003 – 2006

Test and trouble-shoot all modules of the Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) base station system utilizing Cell Site Test Sets (HP 8921A) and PC controlled Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).

Implement Engineering Change Orders. Provide design verification testing and product qualification support for RF analog integral circuits.

RF prototype circuit layout and fabrication using Power PCB and Quick Circuit milling machine.

Tune voltage controlled oscillators (local oscillators, frequency references), modify transmit power ramp profiles, debug transmit and receive signal chains.

Perform various linearity and intermodulation distortion test, implement test procedures for screening of transceiver chips (mixers, amplifiers, dividers, synthesizers). Implement test procedures for screening handsets and new IC. Perform measurement for gain, bit error rates, frequency error, S-Parameters, VCO tuning rang and slope, Noise figure, 1db compression and IP3.

Use base-station emulators (R&S, CMD 55, HP 8922).
