Senior Proposal Manager, Software AG August 2013 – Present

Mr. Sanderson is a Senior Proposal Manager responsible for planning, managing and running Federal, state and local, commercial and education proposals. He is responsible for proposal readiness planning, resource allocation, proposal production and delivery and management of assigned internal resources. Mr. Sanderson helps drive new business through use of innovative win theme sessions, storyboarding, mockups, war room procedures and effective Blue, Pink, Red and Gold Teams.

Responsibilities:

Mr. Sanderson manages the RFP response process by reviewing RFI’s, RFP’s, Sources Sought and unsolicited proposal responses.

Mr. Sanderson is involved in all aspects of proposal management including proposal response development, proposal writing and compliance, and technical subject matter organization for proposal efforts.

He co-develops, edits and maintains proposal team policy, procedures and guidelines.

Mr. Sanderson ensures that proposal activities are executed in accordance with Software AG policies and procedures, and tailors processes and procedures as required by the size, scope, scale and timing of the opportunity.

Mr. Sanderson coordinates with Business Development, Business Operations, SME’s, Product Marketing and Professional Services to shape a winning proposal from the customers’ requirements and capture strategy.

Proposal Manager, STG Inc., Reston VA February 2013 – August 2013

Mr. Sanderson is responsible for ensuring that the solution contained in the proposal documents and oral presentations are presented in a creative, compelling and compliant manner. He takes end-to-end ownership and command of proposal development and related support processes, including down-select questions, written proposals, oral presentations, Evaluation Notices (ENs), and Final Proposal Revisions (FPR). He proactively develops, maintains, and applies proposal planning process for each proposal, including outlines, storyboards, themes, action items, etc. He leverages existing archived proposal information and provides guidance to proposal writers/contributors within STG and its subcontractors. He communicates proposal-related requirements and status with senior management, as appropriate. Proposal Manager, Telos Corporation, Ashburn VA March 2007 – January 2013

Mr. Sanderson developed and managed Federal and DoD proposals from inception to delivery. He effectively took information from Business Development staff members and Capture Managers and wrote compelling proposals that clearly demonstrated why his team offered the best value. His efforts included advanced editing, creation of tables, charts and figures, as well as development of templates for past performance and resumes. Mr. Sanderson was also the lead Technical Writer and Quality Control specialist for Telos' Pentagon Telecommunications Center (PTC) project where he edited and developed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manuals and monthly status reports. Mr. Sanderson led winning efforts for over 50 proposals including the DHS IA Compliance Tool, NETCENTS rebid, FedRamp 3PAO, and various task orders for USDA, GSA and DoD.

He worked with sales team to create capture strategy, win themes and executive summaries. He assisted in proposal wins with CA's eTrust security software, Unicenter and other CA products for DISA, DoD, USGS, SSA, FAA, Customs, NSA, CIA and other Federal agencies. He updated and utilized the Pragmatech Corporate Database as well as designed proposal templates for the Federal Team.

Proposal Specialist, MAXIMUS Inc. August 2003 – March 2005

Mr. Sanderson created compliant and winning services proposals based on State, local and Federal RFP's using the Shipley Associates proposal guide as a key tool. He coordinated with writers and management to develop proposals that were competitive, responsive and compliant. He collected and maintained a library of RFP's, proposals, staff resumes, project abstracts, business unit performance statistics, corporate qualification statements and other pertinent information used in MAXIMUS proposals and marketing materials. He Compiled information for marketing materials and presentations and collected and maintained statistics that reflected the quantity of services provided by MAXIMUS and provided this information as needed for proposals and marketing materials. He successfully supported MAXIMUS major wins including Los Angeles Unified School District, California Healthy Families and Cook County, Illinois, Child Support Enforcement.

Mr. Sanderson ordered, received and distributed Request for Proposals to interested business units. He developed leads in 40 new proposal wins generating new revenue for MAXIMUS. He tracked over 8,000 bid opportunities over tenure of position. He developed MAXBIDS database to track RFP due dates and division responses. Mr. Sanderson Created working relationships with over 25 procurement officers.

Manager Content Operation, Reuters/Factiva 1999 – 2002

Mr. Sanderson managed a staff of eight Source Analysts who ensured loading and indexing of content for Dow Jones Interactive (DJI), Reuters Business Briefing (RBB) and Factiva.com products in accordance with published quality standards and customer expectations.

Accountable for the day-to-day processing, indexing and managing of all content within Factiva, achieved a 97% on time rating for new content.

Executed comprehensive programs for monitoring timeliness and completeness of content and quality of coding; a 94% accuracy rating, up from 87% was achieved through effective training and feedback to staff members.

In conjunction with Project Managers (Content Management), specified and prioritized the addition of new content to Factiva products, added over 350 new sources during tenure.

Responded rapidly to customer service queries concerning all DJI content and RBB content indexed in the USA, established a superior rating in creating quick responses to queries.

Mr. Sanderson delegated source analysis duties to a staff of seven to create timely, accurate and

detailed abstracts about political, business and general news stories from over 7,000 sources.

Cybrarian, created and distributed online baskets of news and market reports to clients such as Lucent, Merck and Andersen Consulting as well as supported and trained Reuters sales staff.

Developed and maintained Coding and Taxonomy Systems group by helping to create Reuter's Intelligent Indexing. Created a company profiling and indexing system using a Symbology system based over the Internet.

Source Analyst, Reuters 1995 – 1997

Mr. Sanderson abstracted and maintained historical text database for Reuters Business Briefing, promoted after six months to Lead Analyst after designing revamped industry classification guide. He was an online editor and indexer for internationally circulated newspapers, magazines, press releases and third party news briefs. He effectively and efficiently classified news items into lists of topical interest and coordinated the indexed publications according to type of publication, subject, topic and geographic location.

Intern, Senator John Warner 1994 – 1995

Researched and prepared constituent responses and position papers for Senator Warner's Legislative Assistant's and staff. Attended Budget and Defense committee meetings and filed reports to staff. Created position papers on Motorcycle Helmet Laws and Defense Contract regulations.

Disaster Assistance Employee, FEMA 1992 – 1994

After the devastating effects of Hurricane Andrew in August 1992 and the Mississippi River floods in 1993 Mr. Sanderson participated in the Federal Task Force sent to aid in the recovery and restoration of disaster stricken communities.

Established and maintained vendor contracts for temporary office space, local hires, and provided logistical support for all operational needs.
