Steel Structural Inspector / Dimension Contrl

MAIN FUNCTION:

Oversee site contractor fabrication, construction, erection, quality & etc.

Perform dimensional surveillance in accordance with the Project Quality Plan.

Provides reports / results of inspection surveillance.

Performs dimensional control inspections during fabrication.

Lead the Survey personnel in performing dimensional checks upon fit-up and subsequently after welding of all primary structures.

Serve as member of the Project Team (PT) when project assigned

Provide the interface between the work face and the Construction Site Manager or Construction Site Lead.

Monitor and appraise construction work in the specific discipline.

Ensure good communications and relations with the contractors.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Monitoring site safety awareness and safe performance with contractor and among Project Team members

Interface with QA/QC personnel to address quality issues/progress

Ensure compliance with specifications, procedures, and plans

Coordinate Quality Audits and other site surveillance activities

Perform other duties as requested by appropriate site supervision.

Proficient in interpretation of tolerance requirements in client specifications and applicable codes and Global Practices.

Performs visual, dimensional and functional inspection of fabricated components in fabrication yards and offshore using various tools, equipment, and measuring instruments where necessary.

Issue Acceptance/Rejection surveillance report & sketch reflecting actual dimension against approved engineering drawings and allowable tolerances as stipulated in client specifications or code/standards.

Liaise with QC and production personnel Daily surveillance plan

Ensure contractors precision surveillance instruments are calibrated and properly maintained

Complete the Dimensional Control check sheets.

Fabrication Supervision Duties:

Checking on Drawing, Shop Drawing, Cutting Plan, pin point error area, request for revision.

Site modification, Inspect all dimension, surrounding stiffener, obstruction, sketching out all round relevant area in order to avoid any double job going to carry out, offer best solution for Engineering Department to act accordingly.

Monitoring each single panel fabricated according to spec, dimension, drawing, correct bevel needed, drawing might have different method, Quality.

Supervise relevant parties on erection sequence, erection method, provide accurate Dimension needed to ensure panel, structural after weld will according to Drawing and Specification.

Ensure personal marking on site are correct, for cutting, erection, bevel preparation.

Dimension Survey all panel, sub panel, sub block, mega block, safe keeping all record, close monitoring on all fabricated block for future block erection.

Erection Supervision:

Close monitoring each single block, planning on Dimension Survey Control Point transferring ensure future Dimension Survey relevant Datum Point.

Task planning on next block erection

Site verification on miss alignment, reporting, solving site modification.

Provide useful method on alignment of the structural.
