As an Assistant Resident I&C Engineer (PMC) - responsible for
performing all the administrative and operational functions necessary for the day to
day I&C operation of the project. In the absence of the Resident Engineer, the
Assistant will Assume his duties.
Duties & Obligations:
Responsible for administration of I&C construction contract works,
and assist the RE with prompt exchange of correspondence,
submittals, and RFIs to all contractors.
Orient, assign, and supervises I&C construction inspection staff on
a daily basis so that all contractor I&C activities are adequately
covered.
Spearheaded and remain vigilant regarding all aspects of the I&C
construction activities. Respond with appropriate and necessary
levels of I&C construction supervision to provide quality assurance
(QA & QC) in accordance with contracts
specifications & documents.
Coordinating interface of I&C construction works with other I&C
contractors on the site. Orient I&C inspector’s to verify that
contractor is following his approved site Health & Safety plan.
Assisting the RE and QS team in negotiations with the contractor
regarding the values of claims or changes in schedule.
Reviewing I&C contractor’s work progress at all times. Monitor the
material incorporated in the work, the materials stored at the site,
and the contractor’s manpower and equipment.
Attending weekly, monthly, and other progress meetings held at
the site as required by the RE. Identify constraints and
recommend corrective measures.
Coordinating with contractor’s I&C supervisory personnel regarding
schedules, sequences, and methods of works.
Continuous inspections and consultation with the RE including the
preparations of written and oral I&C reports to the RE on
contractual and procedural matters.
To provide general instrument and controls engineering support
to the Construction and the Operations team during the project
EPC and Start-up Phases on Field instrumentation, DCS, ESD, &
Fire Alarm and suppression system to ensure operational
readiness.
To contribute to the resolution of instrument and controls
operations, reliability and maintenance issues during the
engineering and construction phases of the project including
DCS system interfaces with the field instruments using Profi-bus
and Foundation Field bus communication interfaces.
Upon completion of the project, coordinate with main EPC
contractor for the Test packages, handing over of the
documentation, and O&M manuals.
To direct and coordinate the activities as Client representative
to the Main EPC Contractor of multi-disciplinary technical
experts in the Instrumentation and Control section ensuring the
proper erection and construction in line with correct practices
of the Instrument & Controls systems of the plant.
To provide technical inputs to the projects and extend the
required supports and assistance during commissioning and
start-up.
To enforce the implementation of Company Health, Safety and
Environment Management System (HSE-MS), and promote
awareness of its use among Main EPC Contractor and its sub-
contractors.
To monitor and inspect construction activities and identify
opportunities to improve the performance of Instrument, DCS & ESD
