Desription: As the use of wireless communication devices grows everywhere, it does too the need to monitor, test and diagnose them. Handheld Spectrum Analyzer designed from scratch to be a sort ofSwiss Army Knife for the specific needs of ISM band digital communication. ISM bands are used worldwide in many devices and systems, and some of them are very appealing for hacking and tinkering. However, it is really difficult to tweak a device in these high frequency RF bands without a Spectrum Analyzer. We all know it is difficult to work in DC circuits without a multimeter, and it is equally hard to work with digital logic circuits without a logic analyzer or an oscilloscope. For RF transmission and circuit testing, a spectrum analyzer can be considered the basic most useful tool to own, at the same level than multimeter for DC or oscilloscope for AC.
In this project design a miniature handheld model of the AF (audio frequency) signal and RF (radio frequency) signal. A audio frequency signal in the range of 20hz- 20khz having an amplitude less than 5v is processed and displayed on the screen. Similarly the radio frequency (RF) of about 2.4GHz signal is displayed in similar manner. Along with spectrum of the signal,instantaneous power of the signal is also displayed. spectrum analyzer operating on 5v DC supply. The analyzer would analyze the spectrum of 433 MHz, this works out to be a wavelength of approximately 0.69 meters.
