WORK EXPERIENCE

Asst. Manager-R&D

Clarity Medical Pvt. Ltd - Mohali, Punjab - July 2009 to November 2012 Mohali

Projects Undertaken:

WORKED ON EMG CIRCUIT:

#IDE used: IAR Embedded Workbench # Coding Language: Embedded C. In the EMG machine, circuit and board was designed and tested for the SNC (Sensory Nerve Conduction) test and PWM pulses were given according to the amplitude of the current (in mA) set in the software. The pulse duration could also be set manually and through feedback, microcontroller would give the required period of the pulse.

High voltage circuit was designed (using boost controller) for the same. TESTING OF THERMAL PRINTER:

Tested A4-size Toshiba and Mechatro thermal printer by designing motor drive circuit for the stepper motor of each printer. Pulses were given to the windings of the respective motors according to their polarities. Various other conditions such as Paper Out, Head Open etc. were also checked. VISUAL INTERFACE OF PROJECTS:

Made the Visual Interface for the user, of the projects made using Visual Studio 6.0 in which different objects such as combo box, option buttons, and list etc.were used. SIMULATORS:

Designed various simulators, as described below, in which an ARM Cortex-3 Core based 32-bit microcontroller was used. The uC was programmed serially using In-System Programming (ISP) method by converting USB Port to serial port through FTDI chip.

#IDE used: Keil uVision4 # Coding Language: Embedded C. SpO2 Simulator- Designed SpO2 (Saturation of Peripheral Oxygen) Simulator to calculate and verify the perfusion (blood flow rate) and Oxygen percentage readings given by a SpO2 machine. Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) method was used for sending the data from uC to the circuit. Also; waveform was designed, according to Heart Rate, using Pulse Width Modulator (PWM) of uC. IBP Simulator- This simulator was made to calculate and verify the Invasive Blood Pressure (IBP) readings- constant as well as Systolic and Diastolic pressure readings shown by the machine. NIBP Simulator- It was designed to calculate Non-Invasive BP readings, in which the module filled pressure in the simulator (similar to actual manual method) and heart beats were artificially generated in a speaker according to the pressure level and the beat coupling.ADC and PWM were used in this case. Provision was given for offset (zero reading) and gain calibration as well. ECG Simulator

#IDE used: IAR Embedded Workbench.

# Coding Language: Embedded C.

Worked on this project using a mixed signal processor and with the help of PWMs, the ECG waveforms of various leads and their combination are generated. Waveforms of different types of diseases designed in order to check the correctness of the ECG module of the diagnosing monitor. Also, the feature of testing R-R variability (randomness in Heart Rate) in any module to be put in the simulator. TESTING OF RF MODULE:

#IDE used: Keil uVision4 # Coding Language: Embedded C. Tested the (wireless) communication between various RF (Radio Frequency) modules (e.g.Zigbee, Nordic modules etc.), using ARM 7 core based microcontroller. Packet data communication was done by assigning addresses to different modules and receiving acknowledgement, all this was done to make a wireless Central Monitoring System.

Trainee

Netmax Technologies - Chandigarh, Chandigarh - January 2009 to May 2009 Chandigarh

Interfacing was done with various peripherals like LEDs, Matrix Keyboard, LCD, Seven Segment Display, DC Motor (using H-bridges), Stepper motor, Real Time Clock (RTC) - serial and parallel, serial communication, relay, PS2 Keyboard, Inter Integrated Circuit (I2C) bus, ADC and DAC using uCs AT89S52, PIC 16F73 and compilers SDCC, mikroC and also developed a kit to test the interfacing. Also various power supply topologies including SMPS were studied and program burning methods like ISP, IAP and ICSP methods were performed.PCB Designing was also done using the tool OrCAD 10.5 Intern

www.st.com - Noida, Uttar Pradesh - January 2008 to June 2008 ST Microelectronics, Greater Noida

Verified the integration of a module, the ADC-Digital interface at system level (SOC level), using a chip called Pictus (a combined chip made by ST Microelectronics and Freescale) with ARM core (i.e. Debugging) . Test cases were developed or modified and then run on simulator to verify functional correctness and the integrity of module. A tool called Specman Emanager also used. Project was in the highly competitive Automotive Product Group (APG) group.
