2014 – 2015 Operations Manager at Ontario Flooring Inc., Vaughan, Ontario

Responsibilities included overseeing general functions of flooring business including Facilities, IT, Procurement, Scheduling and other aspects of the daily operations.

Duties included: supervising staff to ensure that all aspects of order processing are completed in timely manner and within the required schedules. Running periodic inventory reports to maintain perpetual counts are accurate. Training and mentoring all team members, developing and maintaining budgets, daily master installation scheduling & workforce review. Assistant VP Manufacturing at Nova-Link Limited, Mississauga, Ontario

Responsibilities included overseeing all production activities, materials availability, scheduling & quality control. Managed several departments including installation and transportation services.

Duties included: assisting in sales forecasts, collaborated in budget preparations, personnel scheduling, manufacturing organization, annual employee reviews/performance appraisals & cost/expenditure control.

Major contributions during this position included upgrading machinery and staff skills to CNC operated machinery. Introduction of many new manufacturing processes to the company and made significant initiatives towards ISO14000 certification.

Plant Engineer & Facilities Manager at Nova-Link Limited, Mississauga, Ontario

Responsibilities included ensuring the facility was maintained, production/process improvements and efficiencies, health & safety, maintained plant drawings showing all machines, electrical & mechanical systems.

Duties included: arranging contractor service for machinery/facility, running the health and safety committee, collaborated on facility improvements or repairs, supervised superintendent, maintained & recommended service contracts. Updated & implemented policies & procedures for the elements of the safety program.

Major contribution in this position were moving the entire company’s machinery, processes, product inventory, office workstations, etc. from one mid-size plant to a brand new large size plant over a period of 1 weekend. Responsibilities included overseeing all QC aspects of product, health & safety where I start up the JHSC committee and was appointed as the Co-Chairperson.

Duties included daily inspections of all products to ensure conformity, created very first company QC Manual and generated inspection procedures to ensure quality levels meet minimum standards, calibrated, maintained and repaired all QC testing apparatus, review certification requirements of ISO 9001 elements.

Major contribution in this position was the design, planning, and specification of the requirements for a brand new paint line. This project was installed on time and under budget and was a major efficiency improvement process in the plans for a brand new plant. Incorporated new testing procedures for paint film testing, color matching, titrations & surface hardness testing.

1991-1992 Production Manager Trainee at E.R. Carpenter Co. of Canada Ltd. Woodbridge, Ontario Responsible for manufacturing operations. Daily routine included: insuring production requirements, supervision, quality control, employee scheduling and ordering of materials. Began work as a second shift supervisor and was promoted to first shift branch supervisor within 3 months. New position entailed problem solving to minimize the occurrence of poor quality and organization of production to maintain required inventory levels. My major contribution was an implementation of a PLC software program to automate one of the main mechanical processes which improved the quality of the product and increased efficiencies. Other contributions included: improved productivity, quality and safety through time studies, Kaizen projects and employee training. 1991-1990 Computer Design Associate at Teknion Furniture Systems Inc., North York, Ontario Assisted in a computer engineering analysis of a newly designed support for an office chair. My duties included: working independently on a computer program to perform the analysis and collectively consulting on coordinating and implementing the design changes.
