COURSE PROJECT
Project 1
Overview:
APAC Networks Inc. is a pioneer in internet security solutions products. Our niche solution, MonitorIT is widely used in financial institutions and government agencies.
MonitorIT has been around for a while and its underlying technology has not changed in a while. As a result, our products are not cutting-edge and best-of-the-breed anymore and customer satisfaction is below par. This has resulted in competition making inroads into areas which were once our monopoly.
The project involves:
Development of new user interfaces with different look-and-feel.
Providing web services to expose business data to customers
Testing the usability and continuance of existing functionality
Collaborating with documentation and marketing teams to update user manuals and marketing material to reflect new user interface and services
Project 2
Overview: Risk Management Process in detail -Testing the usability and continuance of existing functionality has to be carried out and collaborating with documentation and marketing teams to update user manuals and marketing material to reflect new user interface and services.
‘AGILE’ methodology: - This is a risk management methodology which helps review risks and resolve at each iteration. It encourages rapid and flexible changes to the project.
Identify: For the new ‘user-interface, there would not raise a risk of total project failure, because the initial market survey shows that there is a potential demand for it. Project manager along with the product manager and the stakeholders brainstorm to identify potential threats.
Assess: APAC uses brainstorming and interviews as standards for assessing any given problem. Risk assessment is formally done by consulting experts in that area.
Respond: In this agile methodology, each iteration takes a fresh look at the user-interface that is upgraded. If obstacles can be avoided, transferred, accepted, or mitigated, plan is eventually implemented and monitored closely.
Review: A continuous feedback is given out by the developers and the QA team to the project manager and stakeholders. The marketing team is always actively participating in the discussions with all the people above mentioned.
Risks register will be reviewed by the scrum master weekly. Within the risk review meeting:
-Existing risk responses will be reviewed for status
-After each iteration, the product-developer identifies and adds any new risk that crop up to risk list. Scrum master will determine if the new risks will require further analysis.
-Stakeholders and product owners have respond for the risks that affects budget, schedule or scope.
