MS PROJECT/THESIS:

In Telecom Domain: Practical implementation of multiband spectrum sensing using USRP test-bed for Cognitive Radio:

Cognitive Radio (CR) is the technique to encourage spectrum sharing between operators. CR is used to detect the availability of the empty spectrum which means if the spectrum is not used by the primary user (also known as licensed user of the spectrum) it could be used by the secondary user (known as non-licensed user). In this project I used Spectrum sensing technique on USRP with MATLAB. The project was the practical implementation of spectrum sensing technique for CR in order to save spectrum from wastage. Energy detection and sequential probability ratio testing (SPRT) were the techniques used to implement spectrum sensing in CR. MATLAB was used to simulate the scenario and show the difference between both the techniques. To identify available bandwidth spectrum spectrum analyzer was used.
