Organizational Contributions

Management

Develop strategic work plans for assigned capital projects.

Develop both zero and historical based department budgets.

Participate in Management meetings discussing “path forward” issues.

Compliance Environmental/Safety/Security

Demonstrate competency in identifying, developing and integrating applicable (OSHA, Env., DOT, Fire, Railroad, Coast Guard, etc.) regulatory and corporate programs.

Develop Division Policies, support established procedures, and integrate tasks to ensure Health, Safety, Environmental, Fire and Security agency compliance and company performance within multiple states.

Prioritize, schedule and execute compliance tasks to ensure conformance with operating permits.

Apply for and obtain operating Environmental permits (Air, Water (treatment and storm water), Waste, and Emergency Response-ICS).

Develop operating plans to meet or exceed compliance expectations. Such as, but not limited to, Facility and Security Response Plans, Spill Control and Countermeasure Plans, Hazardous Waste Management, Elementary waste water treatment, precious metal recovery, reverse osmosis, etc.

Manage Worker’s Compensation programs (reporting, claim management, modified /light duty assignments. Doctor communications, and release-to-duty work programs.

Conduct site safety inspections.

Audit work sites for safety/environmental issues and resolve with site supervisor.

Manage risk management, incident investigation, and safety committees.

Develop and deliver compliance training.

Develop and execute training needs assessments

Establish developmental training plans and coordinate developmental training.

Identify federal and state training gaps; then develop a training plan to resolve and close identified gaps.

Human Resources

Develop employee and contractor handbooks.

Establish Progressive Discipline and Absenteeism Policies.

Develop hiring matric. job descriptions, and supervisor expectations for performance reviews.

Develop New Employee Orientation and training.

Develop Pay and Progression Program for applicable operators, mechanics and laboratory employees.

Assist Facility Managers and Department Supervisors in documenting personnel actions and discipline.

Managed Payroll function.

Negotiated compliance and safety programs with Unions.

Public Affairs

Build partnerships with agency partners, neighboring stakeholders, and participate in industry groups (SSA, CARE Groups, LEPC, and Legislative action committees).

Serve on Agency Advisory Groups (Air, Storm water, Hazardous Waste Disposal and Emergency Response ICS).
