Goal of the project was to carry out rating and billing of customers the services used by them. The roles involve requirement analysis, technical evaluation of billing solution, System integration and deployment of telecom billing systems.

Key Deliverables

]Experienced in rating and billing process in BSCS covering all business domain entities of BSCS, CMS development, business configuration (rate plans, system scenarios, rating packages, free units, promotions and customer’s data migration).

]Worked closely with the CRM team in order to agree on the data mapping, e.g. how are the markets, rate plans, services, parameters … etc are mapped between the two systems? Each system has its own database structure and constraints and all these information we need to check in TOAD in database by running sql queries.

]Worked on rating engine, the events received in rating engine in the form of CDRs (Call Detail Records) or UDRs (Usage Detail Records), which explains the use of services. CDR is the collection of data which contains call information such as call date, call time, call length, calling party, called party etc and CDRs. Which are use to rate events, there is also a different table for rate plans.

]There are basic steps which we use to carry out for rating the events.

]Accepting CDRs from mediator in the UNIX server also need to check the CDRs naming convention which includes the call info (call info which contains call time, date, length etc) in UNIX server.

] Validating the CDRs and eliminating any duplicate records and the duplicate records are checked by running Sql query also checked in UNIX server and after checking all the info records are stored in Oracle database tool i.e. in TOAD for later verification.

]Determining customer account that has to charge the service/event and the customer details are checked in Oracle database tool i.e. in TOAD. Rate process pickup source (Mobile number or IP address – we can get mobile no details from TOAD i.e. from database as well also from UNIX system as under UNIX server also the details of customers are stored.) and then we need to check in TOAD in database if service associated with any account and if service is not present then that event/service is rejected and stored in TOAD for later verification.

]Worked on costing to service and service is charged according to traffic plan, there is a separate table in TOAD in database for traffic plans which stores various traffic plans and its details. The rated services are stored in TOAD for billing purpose or sent to external system for billing.

]Understanding different rate plans and their billing impacts.

] Billing engine pickup an account to generate a bill and we carry out following steps to generate invoice where billing process runs on the UNIX server.

]1. Firstly we need to rate CDRs of customers within 1 month of invoice, there are 4 billing cycles and we need to check first from TOAD whether which month billing we need to carry out by running the Sql query in TOAD for selecting billing cycle and there separate table for billing cycle in TOAD..

]2. If there is any refund or other charges are applicable, need to check in TOAD by selecting the records from Charges table by Sql Query.

]3. Adjustment passed in favor of customer or against customer, or discount given to customer or any taxes applicable on customer’s usage and rental charges are updated in TOAD to respective customers account.

]4. The billing system then guides the billing records to correct account and we rates the call using the arte tables in TOAD. Then we update the billing records in billing pool and the updation is done automatic we can check in TOAD in database by running the Sql query.

]5. Then from backend of billing system we combines records from pool to create a single invoice that is sent to customer.

]6. The customer then sends to telecom service provider then payment are posted or recorded in billing system. Then we update the files of customer service representatives
