Onvoy/Broadvox is a leading nationwide provider of Telecommunications helping SMB enterprise and carrier customers succeed through cloud-based communications, applications and high-quality broadband connections. Broadvox has revenue of $100 million providing voice, data and technology services.
Vice President Finance and Corporate Controller
Reporting directly to the COO & CEO, overseeing financial activities of all Broadvox units. Preparation of current financial reports, financial goals, cash management, budgets, compliance, and reporting such activities to the staff and key business leaders in this entrepreneurial company with a fast-paced environment. Managing a staff of 12 professionals on a SAGE 100 finance platform. Retained to facilitate long-term initiatives relating to Merger & Acquisition activities.
Financial support relating to the M&A goals to restructure retail and wholesale operations. Sale of retail SIP and hosted VoIP product lines completed in 2013. Sale of remaining wholesale and CLEC operations completed in 2015.
Identified an issue with Net Working Capital relating to retail division sale resulting in $1.5mil favorable cash adjustment.
Organizational re-engineering of the Accounting Department resulting in the hiring, developing and retaining high potential managers and staff. Re-engineered department reduced workload and headcount by 60%, yielding $1.0mil annual savings.

Panther Expedited is a logistics company providing transportation ground, air and logistics solutions to more than 11,000 customers worldwide. Panther is a $200 million division of ARCB, a transportation service provider with revenue of $1.9 billion.
Assistant Controller
Retained for merger, integration and operational support in conjunction with the acquisition by ArcBest Corporation (ARCB). Reported to the Corporate Controller and Treasurer and responsible for general accounting activities for the Panther division. Accounting and financial reporting accomplished utilizing SAGE MAS500 integrated Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable system. Provided hands-on leadership supporting a complement of controller services.
Integrating accounting process into ARCB operating model with an emphasis on division accounting, operating analysis and controls.
Review and improvement of month end closing process reducing closing cycle by 7 days.
Analysis and documentation of work flow and process improvements in accounts receivable, accounts payable, general accounting and banking processes. Improved cash receipts cycle and improved treasury cash reconciliation by 2 weeks.

First Communications (a First Energy strategic partner) is a facilities-based Telecommunications provider of residential and commercial data and voice services with revenue of $125 million.
Controller and Assistant Treasurer
Reported to the CFO, managing three direct reports and a staff of 8 professionals utilizing SAGE MAS90. Supported a complement of controller and treasury services with an emphasis on division operating analysis, liquidity management, accounting and controls. Responsible for managing treasury services including cash positions and forecasting. Directed the activities of accounts payable, payroll, commission and expense process. Originally, retained for technical accounting, merger and operational support.
Identified and reported suspicious financial activity that revealed a $12mil material misstatement, a result of accounting irregularities.
Implemented work flow improvements and installed upgraded systems supporting payroll, expense reporting and fixed asset systems for all operations.
Developed Treasury indicators reducing operating cash flow volatility, banking costs and interest expense ahead of new $80mil facility, refinancing senior debt and placement of a $15mil revolver.

Directed the accounting practice, preparation and maintenance of financial reports for Roadway a $3.0 billion segment of YRC Worldwide. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, provided financial and analytical support to Corporate Finance and Financial Planning & Analysis teams to improve Accounting – Operations support. Supported Accounting, Reporting and Fixed Assets supervising staff of 10. Responsible for SEC reporting package to corporate parent as well as ABS reporting package to Treasury.
