Teaching Experience
Graduate Teaching Fellow, U niversity of Oregon Sept 2012-June 2014
● Taught, graded and held help hours, for CIS undergrad students (120+ students/term) for the following courses: Introduction to Web programming, Web Programming and Multimedia, Explorations in Computing (with Ruby). TECHNICAL SKILLS
Languages: Java; C++; Python; C; Knowledge in MPI Programming J ava Technologies: JSP, Servlet, JDBC Development Tools: Eclipse, Netbeans, Visualization Toolkit (Vtk) S ervers: Apache Tomcat and IBM WebSphere Web Technologies: HTML, JavaScript, RESTful WebServices B uild tool and Version control software: Maven, SVN Frameworks: Spring (MVC, IOC, DAO), Knowledge in Hibernate D atabases: Knowledge in (MySQL, Couch DB, Mongo DB) PROJECTS
● Distributed Systems Projects
Developed C++ code to simulate Infinite number of random walks over a large graph in a single process scenario as well as a distributed (2, 4 processes) scenario using MPI programming.
Survey paper regarding different distributed file systems. Specifically, a comparison betweenG oogle File System and H adoop Distributed File System and the various operations associated with them (Map Reduce, BigTable vs. HBase, Chubby Locks vs. Apache ZooKeeper).
● Data Mining, Machine Learning, AI, Database Projects
Air Line on Time Performance (Data Mining Project) Implemented Classification Algorithms on Domestic US Airline Delay time data to observe trends and understand the reasons for the departure delay at few of the busiest airports in the US. Implemented algorithms like ID3, Naïve Bayes, J48 and Decision Trees. Given the necessary parameters, this project could predict the approximate range of departure delay for any domestic flight with 83.22% accuracy.
Improving Classification Algorithms for Keystroke Dynamics Implemented multiclass classification algorithms on key stoke data to classify typists based on their typing behavior. Used multiple multiclass classification Algorithms like Naïve Bayes, Support Vector Machines, One Vs. Rest etc. Organized and pruned this collected data in an intelligent way to help improve this classification.
Database Design and Applications
Developed a relational database (using MySQL), implemented advanced features like triggers etc. and web-based applications to access this database (using PHP).
Pacman Projects.
Worked on a series of python projects (that dealt with AI concepts and algorithms) to solve the puzzle called Pacman. Implemented search algorithms, generated solutions for constraint satisfaction problems and worked on MDPs.
● Other Projects
Scientific Visualization Projects
Worked on a series of projects (using the visualization toolkit) including the advection methods, Iso-Surfacing and Volume rendering using Ray Casting technique.
Compiler Design
Developed the Scanner, Parser, Abstract Syntax Tree and Semantic Analysis phases of a compiler for the COOL 2013 language in Java.
Simulation of Internal Organization of a Memory Chip Developed a Graphics project that represented the internal organization of a 8x16 memory chip using Open GL. ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
● Have also graded and held office hours for undergrad Chemistry students, for the following courses: Physical Chemistry, General Chemistry.
● Have been involved with the ACISS High performance computing teamat theUniversity of Oregon and assisted in setting up a large scale scientific cloud.
RELEVANT COURSES
Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Scientific Visualization, Automata Theory, Compiler Design, Computer Networks, Distributed Systems, Spatial Representation of Data. ACHIEVEMENTS
