Assisted Customer Business Units (CBU’s) with developing targeted business plans and 30% market share strategies. Identified opportunities and led the development of two new products that utilized existing capital equipment; tracked and supported quote activity for the CBU's; challenged the status quo in manufacturing and engineering to ensure that JCI products were competitive; created sales presentations for CBU’s regarding JCI headliner technology and products; provided technical support to CBU's during sales/quote presentations; managed the quoting process for product and overhead systems to ensure competitiveness; and communicated sales status with manufacturing facility.

• Co-developed a graphical display of potential new business, their sales value, timing and likelihood of winning. This effort expanded the targeted business list at the CBU's and led to the sale of two programs worth $20M.

• Created a graphical display of cost and price that clearly identified roadmaps to reduce costs and options for the CBU's to use in negotiating a price with our customers.

• Developed relationships with key Fortune 500 technical leaders to support current sales and identify other opportunities for sales. This resulted in improved relationships and new product development opportunities. Director of New Product Strategy & Innovation, 2006 – 2009. Developed and executed the innovation strategy for the Interior Trim product group together with heading a team of product and manufacturing engineers responsible for development of new products, technologies and processes. Created a scoring system for projects to ensure they were important to our customers and balanced across the 3 imperatives of mass, cost and natural materials; communicated the value proposition of projects to OE customers at the North American International Auto Show and special presentations throughout the year; and achieved global alignment on projects.

• Improved the New Product Development Stage Gate Process with adherence to the process in two divisions, improving Stage ‘first time pass’ rate by 40%. Also created a template for the project's financial performance.

• Implemented quarterly reviews with CBU’s to identify customer needs and to improve understanding of how current projects could benefit our OE customers. Achieved the target of 10% of sales from innovation projects.

• Increased the number of new projects by 30% by improving the process for soliciting ideas from the entire organization.

• Co-developed a global process for intellectual property management to protect innovative technologies/products while maximizing return on investment for patents and trade secrets. Director of Business Development, 2002 – 2006.
