Undergraduate Research/Technical Projects
Senior Design Spring 2014
Worked on team of 4 members to create a self-sustaining solar system and LED lights to generate efficient, optimal output power based on solar tracking system.
Investigated the use of Silicon solar panels and red LED lights to power a 12V load to create the system and implemented the use of a solar tracking system to assure the solar panels received optimal amount of sunlight at all times.
Led and assisted in the development of the system and analyzing phase to test the feasibility of the system. Also prepared, submitted, and presented the proposal of the system.
Design was successfully achieved and approved by the School of Engineering and Advisors. The device achieved an overall efficiency of 33.67%.
The overall design was implemented at a greenhouse to research the growth of various plants compared to conventional method
