Functioned as a critical member of the Integrated Geospatial Services Team, which delivered numerous projects. The primary projects supported BP in Houston in regards to spill response. These projects included data processing, geodatabase creation, maintenance, and updating, hosting including tile cached image and map service creation, confidential data analysis and hosting, process automation, and data conversion tasks. The project significantly lessened the burden of the oil spill on BP and aided in their legal defense strategies.

Functioned as the team lead for the Paint Creek Lake Ohio historic map digitization project which included federal client interaction, digitization of historic map data, geodatabase attribution and metadata, as well as contour line creation from existing paper maps and description booklets for the United States Army Corps of Engineers. This project was delivered on time and under budget, bringing their data into the modern era and allowing an ease of access and understanding before not fully realized.

Developed and managed a suite of integrated GIS products, including geodatabases, image and map services, ArcGIS servers, contour and grid mapping, and created detailed metadata.

Consistently extracted and translated analog or non-digital data for BP and other clients from various sources using FME. Delivering a spatial component to clients enables them to visualize it on a map or map service, improving their own understanding and of those they intend to introduce to the data.

GIS TECHNICIAN/CARTOGRAPHER AEROMETRIC INC., ANCHORAGE, AK

APRIL 2008 – AUGUST 2013

Played a key role on the cartography team at BP Exploration Alaska, contributing to the efforts to create and update detailed 3D shapefiles in ArcGIS for each pipe on the North Slope using a combination of photogrammetry and engineering drawings.

Created comprehensive permit figures for various clients utilizing engineering drawings and client-provided data, using Microstation and ArcMap. These figures played a critical role in facilitating the permitting team to secure construction permits approved for work on the North Slope.

Assisted in both oil spill response training and completed two onsite rotations as the night-shift GIS Coordinator/Cartographer at the Unified Area Command in New Orleans, LA during the Gulf of Mexico incident. While onsite, produced exclusive maps of the spill area and staging grounds, as well as situation status maps for the United Area Command Center, Admiral of the Coast Guard, and BP Chief Executive Officer. Also, during this time was the only GIS professional on-call in the United Area Command Center and navigated this demanding time efficiently fulfilling requests.

Functioned as team lead for 3D laser scan and modeling project using terrestrial LIDAR data. One completed, delivered a virtual as-built diagram that could be visualized in 3D remotely, eliminating the need to send technicians onsite to inspect conditions. Primary responsibilities during this project included testing the software, updating and creating parts of the model, placing and attributing inspection points, and supervising one additional analyst.
