EXPERIENCE
Elderly
I would visit those that had no visitors each week at Oak Leaf North for many years. I feel that if they are happier it improves their overall health.
Volunteered with caring for elderly at Oak Leaf North in the Alzheimer’s unit.
Administrative
Volunteer with the CareerLink assisting with administrative skills and customer service.
Wrote articles for a kid’s newsletter, acted as a reporter. Made phone calls and gathered the information that was needed. Made copies, folded the papers, attended meetings to decide what should be in the newsletter. Coordinated with other youth who would be responsible for what.
Wrote over 200 letters to soldiers over seas, and also some that were in Walter Reed Medical Center.
Animals
Fostered 2 Labrador Retrievers that were neglected provided daily needs (food, water, nutritional) and found loving homes for them. As well as interviewing prospective adoptive families and setting up the meet and greet to make sure that it would be a good fit.
Cared for my great aunts chickens in her absence, and collected the eggs.
Take care of my pets and maintain a clean and healthy environment for them.
Childcare
Assist a local mission our church does in Lancaster City working with the youth in crisis.
Assist in the classes for the kids and provide emotional support for some who are scared, or never able to just sit on someone’s lap or just get a hug.
Helped with our churches bible school group
Stubenville, Ohio, a mission trip, I worked with young girls to build self-esteem.
Food
Prepared food and assisted with preparations for church suppers.
Assisted with cleaning and preparing 500 ears of corn for freezing
Worked waiting on tables serving food and boxing food for take outs at the local fire hall, and church suppers.
Fundraising
Participated in many car washes to raise money for our mission trips through the church.
Prepared flyers, made crafts and sold them to raise money for the soldiers in Iraq, the American Cancer Society, and for a local charity.
