Physician Assistant Medical

Three words that best describe me, Rachel Schacht, are driven, compassionate, and energetic. I enjoy taking on new challenges and learning about medicine. I love to stay busy and have worked full time as a Physician Assistant since graduating in 2008. Following graduation I worked as a rheumatology PA for 5 years treating an array of autoimmune disorders. I was trained to perform ultrasound guided joint injections, joint aspirations, and joint fluid analysis. I performed routine physical exams and interpreted labs and radiographs. Presently, I work in an occupational health clinic performing military and civilian screening exams and commercial driver medical exams. I’m seeking a job where I will be challenged and able to use my skills as a Physician Assistant to their fullest extent. According to my patients, I have an admirable bedside manner. I perform thorough physical exams and hold myself and those around me to a high standard of excellence.

In addition to being a dedicated worker, I’m also an active member of the Des Moines civic community. I’m an elected House of Delegate representative for the IA Physician Assistant Society and a current board member of the North of Grand Neighborhood Association. I organize neighborhood events, such as National Night Out, block parties, and neighborhood BBQ’s. I believe in giving back to the community and have been a long-time volunteer and supporter of the Ronald McDonald House. I’m fortunate to have been blessed with many gifts and feel a responsibility to pay it forward.
