ACHIEVEMENTS / HIGHLIGHTS
As the Director of the MAGTF Deployment Distribution Operations Center; Responsible for the overall sourcing, Force Generation and the execution of the Force Flow, Force Deployment/ Re-deployment Re-Constitution of I Marine Expeditionary Force Forces during contingencies, exercises and training in the Unit Deployment Program. This effort support the scheduling, control and movement of over 50,000+ forces located throughout the world with staff of 158 personnel are focused in only one direction; providing the best service possible the Marine Corps and the individual Marines. In this effort, we maintain laser –like focus on customer service. At all times this can be very complex task that must be completed in the high stress environment Completing the task requires daily prioritization and deconfliction of deployment and redeployment requirements, often on a short timeline. This is necessary to achieve the ultimate goal of a timeline and complete Force Closure of necessary combat power to accomplish our Marine Corps mission.
Directly Responsible for the planning and execution of the three largest deployments and redeployment of US Marines forces: Desert Storm, Somalia Operation Iraqi Freedom-1. Involving thousands of Strategic sorties over 900 commercial ships 120 amphibious ships. And thousands of commercial trucks.
Correlating over 12 million Sq Ft of supplies and equipment,34 million Cu Ft of cargo and over 600 thousand personnel
Planned and coordinated intermodal sea, air, and ground transportation and throughput support for an organization of over 86,000 personnel. Transported people, equipment and cargo through international sea and airports in an area ranging from the East & West coasts of the United States to Southwest Eastern Asia.
Managed annual operating budgets up to $26 million. Initiated procedural changes in fund administration, which resulted in a savings of 12 % in incentive discounts achieved in the first year. Over a two-year period, achievement rate increased from 67% to 92.7%, a cumulative dollar savings of $15.5 million.
Initiated the requirement for a new force deployment facility at March Reserve Air Base, consisting of enhanced aircraft handling, infrastructure and life support capabilities. This facility will be capable to handle the deployment and throughput of more than 80,000 personnel and equipment, and is estimated to cost under $18 million.
Systems principal mobility advisor to top-level management. Recommendations resulted in analysis creation of the Program Manager for Information Systems. An office which now oversees the acquisition, funding and fielding of all computer software and related integration training for the United States Marine Corps.
Consolidated transportation-related automated systems: Provided functional requirements and configuration management considerations for software enhancements enabling world-wide in-transit visibility of personnel, cargo and equipment.
Functional adviser for study groups, which evaluated information technology supporting transportation planning and execution processes.
Orchestrated numerous contingency and real world crisis management efforts in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Maximizing the use multiple tracking and logistical systems to produce efficient and effective plans for short notice movement of personnel and equipment.
Provided input to the development of revised logistics and transportation training course curricula.
Directed, trained and supervised a team which planned for the rapid movement of 86,000 personnel, and 4,922,800 Sq Ft of supplies and equipment to South West Asia.
Facilitated mobility and logistics systems conferences of up to 70 management attendees from organizations spread across the globe.
