Mechanical Engineer
February 2013 - Present
Full time Mechanical Engineer at the Reservoir Measurement & Control group in Completions with the ODIN flow control valve and Mini-indexer project
Product design: Engineering design for the ODIN flow control valve, a downhole well completion installation. It is a hydraulically operated tool assembly with 8 chokes positions, which controls the flow of oil from the reservoir while producing and controls the flow of water while injecting. The mini-indexer is an alternative hydraulic pulse module to actuate the ODIN valve. Design work involves material selection and drawing checking for manufacturability, GD&T and tolerance stacks. Supplier management in terms of manufacturing methods, quality and non-conformances along with supply chain co-ordination
Testing: Conducted accelerated environmental tests to validate product requirements and test against potential failure modes for the ODIN system at a part, sub-assembly and complete tool assembly level. Performed accelerated lifecycle tests, pressure and temperature environmental tests, shock, vibration and drop tests, root cause analysis for failures and failure mode effects and analysis for the downhole system
