CONTRACT WRITER – WORLD WAR II SURVIVOR STORIES

Between 1975-1985 I was contracted to write authentic accounts of Nazi concentration camp survivors based on fifty plus hours of personal interviews. Each slim volume and the audio transcript were presented to the interviewee. Many survivors had raised children without ever sharing the horror of the camps in order to protect them. Later in life the need to keep the truth alive became more important than sparing children and grandchildren.

NATIONAL ARCHIVE INTERVIEW AND BOOK PUBLICATION - STORYCORPS/NPR In 2010, my sister and I recorded an account of our mother who had entered into a convent after having seven children. When the youngest was eighteen years old, she was initiated into the order of the Sisters of the Holy Name of Jesus and Mary in Oakland, California. Our interview is in the National Archives in Washington, D.C. and featured in the 2010 book, “Mom – A Celebration of Mothers”. I am currently writing her biography based on four-thousand pages of her journals between 1979 to the present.
