US REPATRIATION / CONTRACT POSITIONS 2008 – Present
Returned to US in 2008. Following personal sabbatical, accepted consulting and contract positions. Engagements included:
Served as Vice President Manufacturing and Operations for Comme Il Faut / Luckett Holdings (Port-Au-Prince, Haiti) from 2011 through 2013 with responsibility for production, engineering, purchasing, QC and logistics of 300-employee tobacco manufacturing plant.
Organized production, operations and trained local team and executives on state-of-the art operations enabling them to take over operations in 2013.
Developed multiple new brand opportunities.
Improved processing capability and financial accountability.
Engaged as Consulting Project Manager by Dole Fresh Vegetables (Bessemer City, NC/Soledad CA) as project consultant implementing food processing improvements for total of seven months in 2009 and 2010 for food processing projects.
JT INTERNATIONAL / RJRT INTERNATIONAL, Geneva, Switzerland 1994 – 2007
Japan Tobacco International is a publicly held Japanese company and member of the Nikkei 225 index that was acquired from RJR in 1999 and is headquartered in Geneva Switzerland. Company went through major acquisition and restructuring in 2007.
FACTORY (GENERAL) DIRECTOR JTI, Yelets, Russia (2006 – 2007)
Oversaw all functions of processing facility supplying 18 tons of component product annually to 10 JTI factories in Europe, Asia, and Africa as well as JT, Japan, employing paper mill technology. Oversaw production process from acquisition of raw material through all phases of production, to distribution of finished product. Managed 300 employees while accomplishing process and infrastructure improvement to optimize productivity.
Saved $1M+ annually by building on-site raw material warehouse, implementing direct shipping from origins, and eliminating intermediate storage.
Negotiated transfer of residential heating responsibilities from factory to city normalizing business model and reducing cost; instituted factory safety management program that eliminated lost time accidents.
Integrated quality, safety and environmental management systems, capturing reduction in administrative costs and improving communications.
Completed phased headcount reduction of 15% and stabilized the workforce by reviewing and resetting pay scale to align with company compensation targets and local market cost of living.
Exceeded production targets +3%, while planning expansion to meet future demand and reduce product cost.

Promoted and relocated to JTI headquarters in Geneva to coordinate worldwide factory projects across 15 facilities in 12 countries. Managed $300M St. Petersburg Russia factory expansion and relocation, doubling production and optimizing cost savings.
Renovated newly acquired one million square foot facility increasing production capacity to 45B units.
Converted existing facility to factory and warehouse distribution center creating company's largest production facility outside the US.
