Manager Advanced Development
Led advanced technology development and directed product design and development activities. Managed engineering staff and project planning to ensure on time completion and compliance with specifications, standards and cost objectives.
Led development through FMEA and APQP processes of a highly cosmetic rear view mirror (patent pending) from conception through production launch (showcased at Fleetwood, on the new 2016 luxury American Eagle motorcoach, and on the Tiffin Allegro luxury motorhome).
Awarded Top Ten Best Product Award by the American Trucking Association during the annual Maintenance and Technology Council Conference event in Feb. 2015 for a new patent pending dual camera system used to mitigate the risks associated with tractor-trailer coupling. Developed in collaboration with Fontaine Fifth Wheel, the world largest fifth wheel manufacturer. Led development of concept, product design, testing, and a Kaizen event at our Mexican assembly plant in preparation for production.
Contributed to the development of a new video data server which integrated software, cameras, video and data recording, wireless communications and interfaced via a tablet. Implemented beta testing and demonstrated this solution at multiple customer locations.
Set up a new electronic testing lab, overseeing test activities to qualify new camera systems, evaluate competitive products and test new technologies (such as camera-based object detection systems and radar) for commercial vehicle collision avoidance and driver assistance.
