Dear Hiring Manager:
Please review carefully as I have a lot to offer an employer.
I have a proven track record of assuming management positions, increasing profit margins and, production, while building positive employee relations, reducing down time and improving quality.
Related work history:
The past 18 years, I required very little supervision; I evaluated the operations and addressed the issues having the most impact, while motivating, training and hiring experienced people. I gain the respect of my direct reports by leading with integrity, setting my personal standards high, and expecting the same from the team members while leading our group to meet or exceed management’s goals and reducing cost.
Example 1.); March 2010, I was hired by Chesapeake / Nomac Drilling in Oklahoma, relocated to Sayre PA., and directed to hire / train local employees to eliminate the expense of rotating mechanics from Oklahoma and Texas. Within two years, our team hired and trained 40+ mechanics, commissioned 40 new top drives and 21 prototype hydraulic catwalks. Regrettably, in 2012 natural gas prices dropped, Chesapeake began pulling out of PA. and WV causing most of the rigs to be taken out of service.
May 2012, I relocated to Texas to manage an initial startup of Nomac’s Top Drive recertification / repair center. The first quarter of 2013, I was able to show an average of 30% to 50% savings resulting in an equivalent savings of $500,000 per quarter compared to past repairs and vendor’s quotes.
Example 2.); 2004 – 2006 I was asked to replace a manager at National Oilwell Varco Houston rig floor repair facility. The department had been losing money and under consideration of being closed, there was high employee turnover and an overall department attitude. Working with the supervisor and lead men, we were able improve the working environment by driving a positive attitude and a team mentality. There was an immediate and substantial increase in quality and production, stopped employee turnover ceased.
Under my management, the team increased monthly revenue from $200,000.00 to $1,200,000.00 with zero warranty rework. Our team increased the monthly profit margin by over 30%, all while justifying pay raises and adding new hire mechanics to the team.
Call me if I can answer any questions or provide references.
Best Regards,
Dennis Ratlief
