Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital is one of Iasis Health Care hospital in Arizona. Daily I oversee the operations of the level 3 acute hospital to ensure smooth and efficient patient care management. Assist in the development of the operational and capital budget, DNV and CMS surveys, provides operational resource management including staff, supplies along with equipment and ensures optimal productivity for the 5 surgical suite, 11 pre-op holding area bed, 8 PACU and 2 GI/Endo suites, responsible for 30 FTE. Due to budget cuts my position was down sized to management at another Iasis hospital.

Daily I oversee the operations of the level 1 academic, trauma surgical unit to ensure smooth and efficient patient care management. Assist in the development of the operational and capital budget, JACHO and CMS surveys, provides operational resource management including staff, supplies along with equipment and ensures optimal productivity for the 11 surgical suite, 8 pre-op holding bed, 2 GI/ENDO rooms and 10 PACU beds at this acute care hospital campuses with a total of 762 beds, Atlanta Medical Center department. Responsible for 70 FTE, assist in mentor/education, benchmarking and assisting in the transition to Cerner system. Functions as Director when needed. During my leadership a collaboration with Tenet corporation performing LEAN processes through Performance Management and Innovation (PMI) teams we increased the accuracy of patient identification from 90% to 100%, medication safety by surgical staff from 80% to 100% and anesthesia staff from 80% to 95%, universal protocol via pre-procedural verification, time outs 96% to 100%, SCIP from 90% to 100%, improved productive rate, first case start time and turn-over time. These improvements helped increase patient safety and staff satisfaction.
