Personal

Volunteer work:

-West Haven Nursing Home:

I have volunteered at the local nursing home on a few different occasions. Doing various activities as helping out with their trick or treating event and a little fair that they had to entertain the residents. I helped set up for said events, made sure they went as planned, and cleaned up afterwards.

-Local haunted house:

I helped set up and participate in a haunted house for Apollo-Ridge High school. All profits went towards the school. We managed to set up a small maze in the school having only spent about $10. We used garbage bags and rope to string up a small maze. We brought in costumes and props from home and made a profit that was larger then what the teachers had expected. The haunted house turned out to be popular and they continued doing it annually, even after we had graduated.

-Prop manager:

During high school I got accepted into the position of prop manager for the drama club during a musical. I was responsible for making sure all the props were brought in on time. I would start looking through props that were already available in the prop room and cross them off the list. Then I’d have to see which props we still needed and assign crewmembers to make sure that we got the rest of the props in on time. Afterwards I had to find out which props had to be where at what time and then label each one of them. I would then schedule after school meetings to ensure that each crew member knew which prop they had to place where during scene changes as well as making sure the actors knew where their props were located. Along with all these responsibilities I also had to learn all my lines, where and when I had to be on the stage, I even had to learn a few songs and a couple of dances. Since I was also part of the cast I had to make sure my crew knew exactly what they had to do since I wasn’t always available to help them out.
