VF GBT- NETWORK SERVICES OPERATIONS TEAM LEAD, VF Corporation – 11/2012 to present

Manage a team of 3 VF Engineers and 10 CSC/WiPro Engineers in providing first and second level support for the global VF network across all brands including HQ, Office, Distribution Centers, Data Centers, and Retail Store locations.

• Responsible for day-to-day support “keeping the lights on” for the global VF DATA and Security network.

• Maintain effective operational support communications and guidance.

• Provide timely Remedy ticket resolution and closure.

• Perform daily and weekly team support/operational update meetings to ensure timely resolution to network problems/tickets.

• Perform quarterly global bandwidth capacity reviews to ensure SLAs and bandwidth requirements are satisfied.

• Build and perform structured teams across multiple IT groups to resolve network issues as needed. Some examples include Majestic, Jansport, European and Asia Performance issues, Timberland, and other brands that have experienced major issues regarding servers, wireless, network performance, application performance, desktop front-end performance, and disk space problems. Responsible for research, planning, architecture, implementation, budgeting, vendor negotiations, and support of all global network infrastructure projects, and WAN/LAN additions/changes/upgrades/new site builds.

• Implemented a global Wireless LAN (From Cisco, to Nortel, to Aruba) solution utilizing WPA with RADIUS Authentication for employee access, and a general Internet-only access portal for visitors, all centrally managed.

• Implemented a global Juniper SSL secure remote network access solution, including secure Timberland Employee, and external vendor access.

• Implemented the full PCI compliant network infrastructure for Timberland including network segmentation/Firewall/SSL user access utilizing Nortel Layer 3 switches, Juniper ISG Transparent Firewall, Juniper SRX, Juniper SSG, CheckPoint, Juniper SSL remote access portal switches, Airwave Wireless Rogue Detection system, and RSA (2-factor) Authentication Servers.

• Built RFP, and implemented global network switch replacement from Nortel/Cisco to Juniper Layer3 LAN environment and Aruba WLAN environment.

• Pilot tested global LAN VOIP and Cisco/Tandberg Telepresence. Implemented Cisco-based VOIP in AsiaPac offices.

• Renegotiated a new cost-effective (OPEX saving of 35%), global WAN contract based on MPLS.
