Duties and Responsibilities:
Explains procedures to the patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
Moves X-ray equipment to specific positions and adjusts controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.
Practices radiation protection techniques by using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills.
Follows prescribed safety standards in operating all required equipment.
Selects length and intensity of radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on an individual basis.
Examines radiographic film or digital images for image quality.
Ensures equipment is in proper working order at all times.
Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
Processes routine paperwork.
Prepare and update logbook and register patient number, x-ray procedure and date of procedure.
Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Manage and ensure efficient disposal of various waste material.
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
Records the daily census of the X-ray Department by In and Out Patients.
Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
Performs all other duties as may be assigned.
Performs CT Scan Procedures like Cranial Plain or with Contrast, Whole Abdomen Plain, IV Contrast or Triple Contrast, Chest Plain, High Resolution or with Contrast and so on.
Always takes the history of the patients before proceeding to the procedures.
Always make sure if the patient is diabetic, has chronic kidney diseases, or above or below normal of the creatinine to avoid failure in the examination.
Always make sure that the patient stop taking his/her maintenance for his/her diabetes for 48 hours to avoid complications to the patient.
Always make sure to give the right amount of contrast media to a specific patient especially when the patients are infant/pediatrics.
Always confirm the patients’ information and have them signed the patient’s consent and contrast medium checklist for diagnostics procedures.
Explain the flow of procedures to the patients.
