D.C. Byers Company is a concrete restoration and waterproofing company that was founded in 1901. I left the company on good terms when the owner decided he wanted to retire and no longer wanted to have a division in Ohio

Byers Company /Ohio Inc. was an offshoot of DC Byers Company, In 2004 when I came to DC Byers the company was deep in debt and was losing money on every project they were involved with, the reputation was not good for quality. The bonding ability had been lost, and the company was on the verge of bankruptcy.

I reviewed all of the existing employees and terminated many of them, others who had talent were promoted, trained and developed.
I recruited a General Superintendent to help train and develop field crews
I recruited 2 Project Superintendents
With my team we were able to turn around the company and produce profits on projects
I developed relationships with owners and General Contractors to be able to procure work without bonding and by the beginning of 2005 was able to restore bonding ability.
Through management we were able to take advantage of some of Ohio’s workers compensation rules and was able to reduce our payments in excess of 60%
In 2009 due to excessive personal debt and bad land deals the owner sold the assets to DC Byers /Grand Rapids
Perk Company, Inc.
Perk Company is a civil contractor in Cleveland, Ohio specializing in road and bridge construction. Perk acquired the assets of Able/SS and hired all of the employees.
