Collaboratively direct the work of dozens of researchers in the area of Cloud and Capacity. Strategize, incubate and influence product roadmaps, publications and patents. Engage with academia in funding and driving research in the areas of relevance to NetApp.

Lead geographically distributed team of top researchers and developers in the development of KUIPER, an incubation project that is now on track to become NetApp’s new portfolio product in the area of large petabyte scale capacity storage, from hands-on whiteboard design to a physical 10 node rack with 2 petabyte capacity.

Developed and delivered KUIPER prototype to customer premises in a record 6 months.

Key research projects include:

oLeveraging GPU and Intel HASWELL’s AVX2 to speed up inline compression and dedup. 4x to 5x improvement in throughput.

oFast reboot of Cloud ONTAP by caching NVRAM meta data in Host Hypervisor. Key findings into ONTAP’s bottlenecks.

oIncreasing IOPS throughput and reducing client write latency for cloud ONTAP by leveraging cloud cache infrastructure in AWS. Got 3x improvement in speed.

oUse of regenerative codes to improve data reconstruction speed and bandwidth.

Conceived the idea for a new product “Events Management System” based off of Windows Live meeting (web conferencing tool) to go after e-learning space. Drove the product architecture & planning,, evangelized with other leaders to build consensus .

Incubated Remote Assistance, a lightweight tool built on top of Live meeting. This tool is in use by the customer service organization and Microsoft IT.

Complete SaaS solution for auction management & eCommerce for small- and medium-sized businesses. Andale got acquired by Vendio Inc.

Reported to CEO and spearheaded the international business operations involving product management, engineering, marketing, customer support and billing & collections in Australia and Europe.

Drove the technology initiative and roadmap for all of International operations in collaboration with CTO office.

Redesigned the process to reduce time lag by several factors that existed in features being available on International sites after it was released on the main US site.

Designed a distribution strategy by signing up customers in Germany to direct sell and support users in Germany for a commission
