PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
LOCKHEED MARTIN CORPORATION Newtown, Pennsylvania
Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering November 2001 to June 2015
Directed the manufacture of over $30M in state of the art mechanical and electronic systems for military, civil, and commercial applications.
Developed, organized and led a world-class manufacturing team for highly complex spacecraft antennas used both on in-house spacecraft as well as successfully bidding on external systems on a variety of platforms. Directed high power testing of antenna systems and components in severe space qualification level environments.
Coordinated the implementation of lean production improvements on all of the production programs yielding an average of a 46% reduction in defects, 33% reduction in touch labor and a 23% improvement in build efficiency (lead time reduction). Led the reduction in manufacturing-liable defects to less than 0.30 defects per 1000 touch labor hours.
Leader of the mechanical and advanced manufacturing engineering group directing computer aided design/drafting, and automated test hardware/software design teams involved in new technology development, new product introduction, the identification and acquisition of capital equipment and product line maintenance.
Deputy Director, Communication Products January 1997 to November 2001
Leader of the Communication Products team in the transition and consolidation of the East Windsor, NJ and Valley Forge, PA facilities into the Newtown campus. Developed processes, equipment and standards for manufacturing and personnel. Integrated requirements to develop commonality between program applications for all products.
Team Leader for all Communication Products Lean Manufacturing utilizing Toyota Manufacturing Systems Kaizen events which resulted in increases of over 50% in productivity and quality, and over 60% reductions in down time, cycle time, inventory and rework. Developed and implemented the lean work areas in the new facility for an overall 50% or greater reduction of footprint.

Resume of Richard C. Wozniak
Successfully led the building design effort with architects and facility engineers to develop a highly functional, state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing facility, which is flexible in design to allow rapid product line changes.
Successfully organized and managed the Communication Products ISO-9001 registration effort.
Manager, Mechanical Design and Microwave Laboratories May 1985 to January 1997
Leader of the mechanical engineering and CAD groups for RF component design and the engineering laboratories responsible for generating preproduction prototypes of commercial and defense spacecraft communications electronics.
Successfully led the design and construction of new Class 1000 cleanrooms for RF component assembly and test within the Engineering Labs for IR&D as well as critical custom flight hardware.
Developed RF design producibility training courses, implemented engineer mentoring within the group and established hardware design standards.
Lead mechanical design engineer for RF microwave satellite communication systems. Directed design personnel and engineers in the development of antenna arrays, digital processors and outdoor antenna test facilities.
HUGHES AIRCRAFT CORPORATION Los Angeles, California
Technical Supervisor and Acting Section Head August 1978 to May 1985
Supervisor of a mechanical design engineering group engaged in the development of airborne antenna systems and project engineer for active electronically scanned arrays (AESA) and synthetic aperture antennas (SAR). Responsible for coordinating and providing technical direction to engineers conducting electronic mechanical design, thermal and structural analysis, and computer aided design. Duties also included supervising bargaining unit personnel, scheduling, cost estimating, manpower forecasting, proposal writing and participation in customer design reviews.
