RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

I have been working in Law Enforcement since 1990. I graduated the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in 1991 and began a career with the Bruceton Police Dept. in Carroll County, TN. I started as a patrol officer and completed specialized schools in Arson and Basic Criminal Investigation. After 6 years of patrol, I was promoted to the position of Sergeant. I continued my career in Bruceton as a supervisor. In 2002, I was hired by the Benton County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee. I was hired as a patrol deputy and served in that rank until 2005, when I took a promotion to Sergeant/Investigator for the Department. I continued pursuing my education by attending and completing specialized schools in Statement Analysis and Criminal Law for Investigators. I have attended Instructor Development School, Domestic Terrorism classes, Homemade Explosives Awareness and other classes. I supervise a patrol division that is also responsible for initial investigations, traffic investigation and security. In 2010, I enrolled as a full-time student in college at Bethel University in McKenzie, TN where I completed by Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. In February 2014, I was promoted to supervisor of the Benton County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Registry. In September 2014, I was promoted to Chief Deputy of the Benton County Sheriff's Office, where I supervise criminal investigations, basic patrol, SOR and oversee general applications of the BCSO.
