Area of research: image processing

Research on ‘Performance comparison of Gujarati Script OCR using Hopfield Neural Network with other Neural Networks’ using MATLAB platform as a part of Master degree dissertation.

About thesis: On Gujarati script different approaches have been applied since 1999 but still accuracy is not that much achieved in OCR based systems. The goal of this thesis is to identify the problems with existing Guajarati OCR based systems and to find more robust method/algorithm. In this thesis there is mainly three phases of OCR preprocessing, segmentation and recognition/classification. Principle Component Analysis used for feature extraction and Hopfield neural network used for classification check the accuracy of it. The combine approach of Principle Component Analysis and Hopfield neural network is significantly recognize the Guajarati character. Its accuracy is 93.25%. Other Projects:

Implementation of Content Based Firewall in Bluetooth using J2ME. B.E Projects:

Final Year Project: A project on ‘Empirical Study of Feature Extraction Methods for Face Recognition ‘on MATLAB platform as a part of Bachelor degree. The goal of this project is to present an independent, experimental and comparative study of two most popular appearance-based face recognition algorithms (Principal Component Analysis and Linear Discriminant Analysis) in completely same experimental setup. The motivation is to do the empirical study of those algorithms. CMU PIE face database with frontal face image is used for experimentation and performance analysis. Other Projects:
