Project: Distributed SCCP Layer Configuration in Linux based Telecommunication Computing Architecture Hardware.

Description: Nokia FlexiPlatform is a Linux-based software platform that provides services to build various IP network applications. It is supported on several hardware platforms by keeping the applications and most of the platform software independent from the underlying hardware by virtue of a hardware abstraction layer that enables clean separation of software from hardware variants. The underlying clustered hardware typically consists of a number of loosely coupled multi-CPU and multi-core computers forming a cluster that can be flexibly scaled. Every computer runs the Linux operating system and a selection of platform and application software as specified by the users.

Project: Trillium TCAP software Enhancements and Support

Description: The TCAP portable software product provides the functions and procedures for an application at one node in the signaling network to invoke the execution of an application at another node in the signaling network and exchange the results of such an invocation. Trillium TCAP software enables telecom equipment manufacturers of soft switches, signaling gateways, signal transfer points, service control points, media gateway controllers or other products to:

Reduce development costs

Reduce project risk of internally developed TCAP applications

Role Played: My role involves analysis of crash dumps, logs and stack traces.

It also includes trouble shooting and suggesting short term and long term fixes for issues at code level. I was responsible to work and reach across multiple development teams to get the issue fixed and delight the customer. Contribute to service packs and new enhancements to products/applications.

Project Experience

Project: Interworking of SIP functionalities with the SIGTRAN Protocol stack.

Description: TCAP parameters will be sent as XML content in the SIP message. SIP_TCAP wrapper has to parse the XML content and map the TCAP message which has to be passed to the TCAP layer and when it receives the TCAP message it has to frame the XML with the received TCAP parameters and map the corresponding SIP message to send to the SIP Stack.

Role Played: My role was in developing the xml parser for parsing the xml content received in the SIP message body and mapping the (ANSI & ITU)TCAP protocol message and map the corresponding SIP messages according to the received TCAP message.
