Hired on for Dupont in 1972 as utility in the packaging warehouse. After 9 months I bid into operations as an operator in the Ethylene unit. In 1975 I bid into maintenance and with training for 4 years was qualified as a General Mechanic with my primary skill being a pipe fitter and my secondary skill was millwright. I worked in every area of the plant site which exposed me to hundreds of pieces of mechanical equipment for which I developed a strong mechanical aptitude and learned to be a team player. In 1980 I became a shift mechanic in the ADN area working a 12hour rotating shift . This was a hazardous job with exposure potential to HCN

(hydrogen cyanide), butadiene, h2so4, and many more hazardous chemicals which required strong knowledge of breathing air use, full encapsulated suit and a thorough knowledge of equipment and safety requirements. I volunteered for the Plant Fire Brigade which would respond to all fire alarms, gas releases, and personnel rescue. In 1988 in was appointed Maintenance Liaison for the construction of the plants Hazardous Waste Incinerator. Job duties included inspection and approving all aspects of the contractors work being done during the construction phase. In 1991 I was promoted to the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler position for the Incinerator. In this position I was also the relief supervisor for maintenance and E&I crews. I am an enthusiastic team player with a strong work ethic and strong problem solving skills.
