Dubai Electricity & Water Authority is the sole government utility company which owns and operates the power generation, transmission and distribution network responsible for the supply and sales of electricity and water to customers in Dubai.
Key Functions:
Fault tracing and detection in underground low voltage power cables(1000/600V) using prelocating and pinpointing equipments like Seba Kmt DSG-5000 surge generator, under ground cable route tracer like radio detection RD4000, time domine reflectometer, LV teleflex monitor to study transient and intermittent fault, cable sniffer, radar RD1000 for underground services scanning, insulation resistance tester.
Failure investigation and analysis of system abnormalities, flashed cable joints, overheated substation feeder link, overheated terminal lugs, blown NH-DIN, JS type fuses and applying corrective action.
Scheduling for preventive maintenance and condition monitoring with ultrasonic, thermography, three phase data analyzer.
Prepare estimate for the cable damage claim chargeable to responsible party through legal department.
Design and estimate system improvement proposal like load diversions for overloaded substation feeder, Ariel jumper cancellation, replacement and reconditioning of aging mini distribution pillars.
Design and estimate temporary electric supply provision for the events and functions requested by consumers.
Supervising permanent fault rectification works like cable joints, termination of cable upto 300 mm sq during faulty transformer LV Distribution board replacement, system modification work and temporary power supply work.
Preparing the budget for the total purchase for the year.
