Sun America PL/SQL Performance Tuning 2003 - 2003
Dramatically improved performance for a large, (approx. 80 terabyte’s), database which was processing over 340 million transaction per day using stored procedure and packages. This was accomplished using TKPROF and Auto trace, to analyze the SQL statements and make required changes. The types of queries modified from complex containing up to 14 table joins with correlated sub queries to basic one table one record fetches. Provided recommendations to the DBA to modify database parameters to aid performance where required and worked with developers to show advance SQL techniques for new development.
