Quality Engineer/Supervisor

Work closely with Technical Engineering group on special projects meeting military/foreign customer specifications, requiring extensive NDT, inspection, and documentation requirements.

Coordinate, manage, and comply with all pressure vessel requirements (DOT, ASME, SELO, TPED, CE) including audits, documentation, and certifications.

Work with Inspection Agencies on special projects (ABS, BV, Intertech, Lloyds).

Meet with all auditors of outside agencies (ISO, DOT, FM, RSA, CCCF) regarding compliance.

Resolve all customer, internal and supplier quality issues with emphasis on ATSM product line including warranty/RMA items.

Supervise Large Tank Manufacturing QC Dept. (2) NDT Technicians, (2) Inspectors, (1) Administrative Asst.

Production Supervisor

Facilitate the relocation and start-up of a new hand portable extinguisher production line with annual capacity of 350,000 units.

Supervision of hand portable extinguisher line consisting of a (3) shift operation

including staffing and training of 26 employees.

Manufacturing Engineer

Engineered $500,000 project to automate valve machining operation which

doubled production and generated cost savings of $250,000 annually.

Developed servo drive torque system for installing high pressure cylinder

adapters, which resulted in improved machine reliability, quality, and safety.

Provided engineering support to (5) production lines operated by (40) employees.

Involved daily in troubleshooting machine failures which routinely required the

coordination of multiple resources to correct the problem.

Managed plant maintenance activities involving material handling equipment,

utilities, and building improvements for Ansul's engineered systems facility.

Provided engineering support with relocation and upgrade of a tig-welded

stainless steel shell manufacturing line from Canadian facility to Marinette. The

(3) shift operation annually produced 250,000 units.

Assist plant engineering with capital equipment installations at (3)

manufacturing facilities.

Napkin Shift Supervisor (1994-1995)

Implemented CQI process which reduced variability in product quality and

improved both machine uptime and productivity.

Ensure 100% compliance on OSHA inspection standards including follow

through on equipment modifications following incidents.

Supervise 20 production employees on a (7) day southern swing rotation.

Project Engineer (1981-1994)

Managed paper-converting projects including conception, design, estimating,

capital procurement, installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and closeout.

Projects included: rewinders, saws, wrappers, tail sealers, accumulators,

folders, case packers, case sealers, trim and glue systems.

Budgeted capital up to $825,000.

Installed Slitting System to eliminate expense of outside slitting resources and

fully optimize in-house slitter/rewinder with annual savings of $200,000.

Managed building addition project of a 4500 sq/ft, (4) stall receiving/shipping

dock. Incorporated with this project was the installation of a high volume

storm sewer system designed for a 50-year flood. The sewer system virtually

eliminated flooding of the entire shipping facility during heavy rains.
