Successfully developed an Android application “File Search” which helps users to view and manage files and folder on any Android device. The application was developed in the Java programming language using the Android Software Development Kit and Eclipse IDE. Android offers a unified approach to application development for mobile devices which means developers need to develop only for Android, and their applications should be able to run on different devices powered by Android. This application enables users to select and manage all the files on their device.
Technologies used: Java, Java SDK, Android SDK.
Independent Research & Study Aug 2014 - Dec 2014
Successfully carried out an Independent Research on “Distributed File Systems” which focused on the file systems used at big firms like Google – Google File System (GFS), Facebook – Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and Microsoft – Windows Azure Storage (WAS). I concentrated my study on the architecture, design features, data flow and replication process for each of these Distributed File Systems.
Web Application Development (Software Engineering) Jan 2014 - May 2014
Designed a car pooling web application called “Rideshare” that takes multiple stops as input. It also has different login options for drivers and customers and recommends drivers based on different criteria.
