Lab Technician

Prepare metal surfaces for bonding with porcelain to create artificial teeth.

Test appliances for conformance to specifications and accuracy of occlusion.

Place tooth models on apparatus that mimics bite and movement of patient’s to evaluate functionality of model. Use polymeric compound to take impression of patient’s mouth prior to fabricating dentures, bridges and crowns. Schedule appointments and maintained meticulous records of patient’s charts.

“Chair side” assist dentist in performing procedures on patients.

Use autoclave to sterilize and package instruments.

Lab Technician

Implement microbial culture growth and identification tests on microorganisms.

Conduct tests to obtain data for the purposes of diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Perform immunoradiometric assay designed for the quantitative measurement of various hormones, applying immune-assay methodology; using a gamma counter, a radioactive tracer (I125) and polystyrene tubes coated with monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies. Perform experiments and tests related to Qualitative and Quantitative analysis.

Research Assistant/ Lab Technician III

Use centrifuge to separate whole blood into aliquots.

Prepare samples and microscopy slides for examination or analysis.

Calibrate and repair laboratory equipment. Order materials and supplies as need and maintained facilities.

Conduct routine standard tasks related to processing whole blood and its components.

Specimen accessioning, processing and handling. Label and refrigerate samples.

Participate in weekly seminars with investigators regarding updated research findings.

Prepare media, buffers, reagents and solute.
