Negotiated with truck lines, steamship lines, ports and barge lines to develop pricing more competitive then the vendors delivered price. Utilized a variety of ports depending on final destination. Saved $ 7.0 million in logistics cost and generated $5.0 million in sales to other extruders.

Reduced costs and increased service to aluminum extrusion customers by implementing regional shipping schedules reducing the number of trucks shipped by 32%. Increased trailer utilization saving $ 1.3 million.

Developed an inbound/outbound hub for a building controls system development company to provide kitting on inbound inventory in support of the KANBAN system and kitting on outbound shipments. Hub facilitated more sourcing from Asia saving $3.8 million.

Reduced annual costs $2.8 million for a rural retail firm by consolidation of hundreds of vendor prepaid shipments into a collection of lanes, changing the terms to collect and bid the lanes. Issued routing guide with rates and routes with penalties for noncompliance.

Consolidated shipments from small package to LTL to truckload saving $ 1.2 million.

Waste Management, Inc. 1993 – 1998

Planned and executed successful initiatives affecting an annual Corporate transportation buy of $350 million at the world's largest integrated solid waste management firm. Recruited and managed multifunctional teams of geographically dispersed experts to reduce costs, capture new business and increase quality and service.

Created a national outside trucking program reducing the number of suppliers from 600 to 20 and saving $21.0 million annually.

Captured New York City’s waste transportation and disposal business worth $48.5 million annually. The city required a solution that did not add any traffic congestion. Crafted an innovative solution that allowed waste to be shipped by rail without causing complaints by people and business close to the rail lines. Design and manufactured a new type of rail car to handle the problem.

Developed a new design for compaction and intermodal equipment eliminating odors and securing regulatory approval to ship by conventional transportation methods. Purchased $13 million in assets to handle shipments of waste from New York City to Virginia by rail and barge.

Supported sales team in capturing $95 million in new business to move 800,000 tons of hazardous and non-hazardous waste by negotiating with carriers and selecting the most cost effective and efficient mode of transportation.

Developed rail transload facility in Vera Cruz, Mexico and Mina, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to capture $15.0 million in contaminated soil shipments for disposal.

Consulted on moving waste by rail in New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Canada and Thailand. Worked with Thailand authorities to implement walking floor trailers.
