To Whom It May Concern,
I am an experienced education professional with a diverse background in teaching and education. I am committed and passionate about instilling creativity and confidence in my students and I would welcome a chance to share my experience with your school.
I have my Bachelors in Mathematics and have spent over ten years working with children in multiple environments. Throughout my career I have worked teaching diverse groups of students with a wide range of personalized needs. For over four years I taught inner-city at risk minority students and developed state aligned mathematics lesson which tailored to the diversity and skill set of each class. For two years in Compton, California I worked with students for whom English is a second language, and also taught a special needs class there as well. Through these experiences I became skilled at accommodating the difference of abilities among my students. I learned to tailor activities to maintain the interest of high-level students without intimidating less skilled students. This has been an invaluable skill in my work as a Mathematics Specialist. I have worked with multiple grade levels and through this experience I gained the skills to effectively aide students in their educational advancement while supporting classroom curriculum. My priority has always been increasing the confidence and comfort of each child while ensuring academic success. My ability to be a mentor/educator for the children I work with has allowed me professional and personal gratification. I have the skills and enthusiasm to be a valuable resource.
Working with children has always been my passion, even outside of the classroom. Ever since I started college I have been a math tutor. I have tutored students from elementary to college level courses. I have worked for many tutoring companies where parental interaction was required to let parents know the progress their children were making. I believe parental and community support can be an invaluable resource. I am dedicated to creating an environment for my students that encourages confidence and academic success and I know I can bring a lot of support and encouragement to the children I work with.
I’m enthusiastic about working with students and through education I have found a rewarding career that allows me to encourage students to while providing educational support. I am confident I would make a positive impact to your school and I would appreciate the opportunity to interview with you.
Best regards,
Michelle Roggenkamp
