Optical Emission Study of a Pulsed Plasma Thruster(PPT) o Project to perform an analysis of the electromagnetic spectrum emitted from a Pulsed Plasma Thruster in a vacuum to determine if the emitted radiation would be harmful to optical instruments on board a satellite.
o Worked in a team of 4 Senior students, 1 Faculty Advisor, and 1 Lab manager o Most Significant Personal Contribution: Created a LabView Virtual Instrument to act as signal generator, scope, and controller for the PPT. o Accomplished tasks: Determined the source of a leak on a vacuum chamber and repaired it, created a thrust stand for the PPT, and created the LabView Virtual Instrument. Metrics for Review of Patent Examination Process o Project to create the basis for a database timeline system to organize USPTO events for analysis of various types as needed by the USPTO.
o Worked in a team of 4 Junior students, 2 Faculty Advisors, and 2 employees of the USPTO, and 2 students went to move on to other projects before the project was finished. o Accomplished tasks: Created a fully-functioning mock-up for what the final database could perform and look like.
