Professional Experience

Process/ Project Engineer, Furmanite Tech. Solutions- Geismar, LA (07/2015- present) (contract position)

Worked onsite in Geismar, LA. On assignment to BASF by Furmanite. Updated deliverables for unit’s to comply with standard safety regulations in preparation for an upcoming safety audit.

Evaluated pressure relief systems, improvements were made to. Pressure relief systems, were verified as part of the 5-year validation compliance of BASF’s safety procedures. Summarized results and shared with the Supervisor’s identifying what areas were adequate and where improvements could be made from a safety and operational standpoint.

PSM/RMP chemical inventories- The chemical inventory included any hazardous/flammable chemical present in all gas, liquid or solid phases in the process units and piping headers. Total calculation in lbm (pounds) completed for each chemical component present.

Material and Energy Balances were produced in compliance with OSHA regulations. Aspen Plus simulations were completed with current operating conditions, feed and production rates. The MEB’s simulation, were transferred to MS Visio with an Excel spreadsheet stream summary.

Other work included PFD’s, P&ID’s, line lists, equipment datasheets, process design documents and design calculations. The calculations were summarized and submitted and approved by the unit’s Supervisor.

Process/ Project Engineer, Kelly Services, Inc.- Houston, TX (09/2013- 09/2014) (contract position)

Worked for Dow Chemical in Houston, on assignment to the Sadara project. Process design and debottlenecking were completed for newly constructed units producing low density polyethylene (LDPE).

Design work included process units, pressure relief device (PRD) design, simulations in Aspen Plus and calculations in other engineering software.

As final design work was completed, worked on troubleshooting process design for unit operations and pressure relief systems equipment.
