Performed CBT with participants who were HIV positive and had a substance abuse issues. The goal was to have participants reduce/eliminate substance use and become 100% medication compliant.

Met weekly via telephone for 1 hour per week for 12 weeks focusing on medication compliance and substance use.

LEAD (Longitudinal Expert All Data/Clinician Assessment of Financial Incapability

Clinical interviews of participants gathering data focused on financial capability. Goal is to make a standard objective data collection instrument which determines financial capability.

Gathered data from 4 different sources – 1) baseline from Research Assistant, 2) structured interviews focusing on basic needs being met by client, 3) Clinician assessment form – in which a clinician who knew the client for a minimum of 6 months judged their financial capability, 4) chart review using EPIC, PsychConsult and standard charts, looking for any and all information related to client’s financial capability.

Upon completion of gathering all pertinent data, an algorithm was used to determine the financial capability of the client.

Study Therapist ATM (Advisor Teller Money Management) 12/11 – 7/13

Conducted Substance abuse/Money Management Therapy sessions with participants 1 hour weekly for 36 weeks. Goal of the study was to decrease/eliminate substance use and improve money management.

Collected urine samples to determine substance use, assisted participants with monthly budgets, made financial goals, help track expenses, substance abuse counseling, overall financial mindfulness and how money relates to substance abuse.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy focusing on triggers and early warning signs to relapse, and triggers relating to spending/overspending.
