Forklift Operators - Feb. 2013 to Present

Under the delegated authority, the Forklift Operators shall perform the following duties

Unload inbound consignments safely and move supplies/assets to storage locations and to appropriate designated areas.

Ensure inbound and outbound consignments are accurate and free of damage.

Report quality variances.

Pick, pack and prepare supplies/assets for further transportation and delivery; ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded for further transportation.

Perform picking duties in an efficient manner to meet customer service standard.

Efficiently move products from staging and/or storage areas into designated containers and/or pallets for further distribution.

Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using forklift or other power equipment.

Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly state.

On a daily basis, inspect and perform checks on the forklift and/ or assigned equipment.

Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.

Assist in physical inventories.

Ensure proper stock rotation.

Key Expected Results

Carries out the loading and un-loading of trucks and containers.

Carries out the receiving of shipments into the warehouse including quality control of palletization, packing and labelling of incoming shipments.

Undertakes the transfer of goods into the warehouse for storage.

Processes the picking requests from the warehouse.

Undertakes the packing of sets, UNDP kits and individual items into boxes on the various assembly lines. This also includes the prepack and the bulk packing function.

Ensures the labelling, stacking and palletization of the packed boxes according to the customers' requests.

Performs general warehouse maintenance including cleaning of the warehouse with the sweeping and washing machine.

Participates in the annual physical inventory count.

Performs any other duties as requested by the Supervisors.

To operate a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles including official forklift maintain in proper conditions and repair warehouse equipment as needed on regular basis, make other small repairs on urgent matters.

To prepare supplies for delivery, including offloading, physical handling, receiving, packing, wrapping, labelling and placing supplies sent to the warehouse according to the established procedures.

To arrange for the necessary servicing on regular basis.

To maintain the supplies and the warehouse tidy and clean.
