Responsibilities as a Senior Maintenance Engineer:
Support the HSE culture and comply with internal HSE policies, processes, procedures, standards and ensure safe execution of all Plant activities as per API, AMSE & HSE standards.
Responsible for supervision of equipments maintenance (i.e Reactors, Fire heaters, Heat Exchangers, Columns, etc), plant shutdown modifications, revamping and chemical cleaning activities of refinery.
Responsible for preparation of scope of work/repair work for plant equipments maintenance, shutdowns and turnarounds according the Job to be executed as per ASME, API & ANSI codes.
Coordinated workflow within the engineering team, reviews documents & drawings, interfaces with contractor and vendor engineering staff of project.
Responsible for budgeting, cost estimation and proposal reviews for maintenance / shutdowns activities.
Reviews manpower requirements, specifies resources required to sustain maintenance activities in order to achieve scheduled targets.
Liaison and coordinates with contractors planning and execution team regarding work progress in accordance with maintenance schedule.
Coordination with procurement team as per schedule, cost and quality standards are being met sufficiently with modification and maintenance activities.
Ensure availability of adequate level of stock materials / spares to sustain planned jobs.
Responsible for Conduct technical evaluations of quotations submitted by vendors and negotiation on terms to finalize orders.
Responsible for clarification of Technical Queries and verify discrepancies in the work with reference to Design, Equipment G.A Drawings, Plot Plan’s and Technical specification ASME,API & ANSI codes.
Fully conversant with engineering drawings including, P&IDs, Isometrics, GADs and Fabrication / Equipments drawings and well versed with API, ASTM, ASME and ISO standards.
Prepare & maintain all IMS documents, establish records & incorporate all revisions for internal & external audit as per ISO standards conforming QMS requirements.
Plant Turnaround 2010:
Responsible for supervision of pre shutdown activities, shutdown activities & post shutdown activities of all equipments & piping which includes execution of hot work, cold work modification and chemical cleaning (pickling and passivation) activities in CRUDE unit.
Plant Turnaround 2014:
I have supervised turnaround activities which includes cleaning, repair, renewal and retubing heat exchangers, furnaces, reactors, pressure columns, Vessels, mechanical isolation valve, piping and chemical cleaning (pickling and passivation) of Plateformer, Neptha Hydrotreater and Isomerization units as per AMSE & API codes and standards.
MAINTENANCE PROJECTS:
Platformer and Isomerization Reactors Maintenance:
Directly involved in supervision of repair and maintenance activities of platforming (Alumina based Cobalt Molybdenum Catalyst) and isomerization plants reactors as per API / UOP licenser manuals, which include cleaning, installation, repairs and renewal of damage scallops, segments plates, keeper rods, centre pipe, distributor nozzles and rectifications of pit buildup (A240Type321, 316, A387C materials).
Liaison with TWI (third party inspection agency) for conducting FFS as per API-579, API-941 & API-571 for the repair of Platformer plant reactor.
Crude and Molex Adsorbent Process Columns Maintenance:
Responsible for maintenance, ensure timely repair & testing(NDT’s) of all process columns including Crude, Kero/LGO/HGO Stripper, Splitter, Extract, Molex adsorbent (Molecular Sieve ADS-14 Catalyst) Columns etc as per ASME/API/ standards and UOP licenser manuals, which includes cleaning, installations, repairs and renewal of damage trays, bubble cap/sieves types valves, weir plates, downcommers, rashing rings. (SS316, SS405, SS410 materials).
Crude and Platformer Fired Heaters /Furnaces Maintenance:
Supervised maintenance, retubing and testing of box type and cylindrical type furnaces of Crude & Plateforming plants, having duty of 240MM btu/hr, capacity of 120kBarrels/Day, which includes fabrication and installation of tubes loops (A335-P5,P11 Alloy and A106 CS materials), tube supports, connecting headers, structure, ducting etc. as per drawings and API-530, API-560 & API-573 codes.
Refinery Pressure Vessels & Heat Exchangers Maintenance:
Supervised maintenance and repairs of all plant pressure vessels including Desalters, Accumulators, Separators, Driers, Coalescers, Knock Out/Blow down Drums as per API-510 code.
Maintenance, testing and retubing of plant Heat exchangers (A213-T5, T11 Alloy and A179 CS tubes materials) as per API 660 and TEMA standards.

I was working as “Assistant Engineer Mechanical” and my responsibilities include:
Ensuring for modification, repair, renewal, new fabrication, testing and installation of process plant, offsite and fire water network piping consists of (A335-P5, P11, P22 Alloy and A106 CS materials) as per ASME B31.3 code.
Responsible for maintenance of Mechanical Isolation valves which includes P.C.I and their testing as per API-598 code.
To build up the plan and initial scope of work of plant process and utilities piping according the Job to be executed and preparation of BOQ from Isometrics.
Responsible for installation and alignment of Pumps, Compressor’s, Heat Exchangers, Vessels, process column pipe supports using isometrics & surveying instruments to allow grouting.
Managing the preparation of As-Built Drawings (P&ID and Isometrics) as per Saudi Aramco Engineering Standard SAES-A-202.
Responsible for managing Pre-commissioning activities like Hydro/Service/Pneumatic tests, Flushing, Air blowing and Re-instatement as per Saudi Aramco Engineering Standard SAES-A-004, SAES-A-007.
