Internship, Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute In Bodmer Lab

Participated in research project to develop a GUI application that allow analyzing heart function in the fly and are using this tool to investigate the effects of genetic mutations, aging, sleep, hypoxia and diet on heart performance.

Designed GUI application “GoFlyGo” by Python, in which create adjustable Heat-Mapping to gene name and compound input and create Rate Limiting Step Display with pathway interface reactions.

Authored research paper “Walls, SW, Jung,Yunsup, Bodmer, R. GOFlyGO: GUI-Operated Fly Gene Ontology For Customized Transcriptomic Mapping in Drosophila” (In Progress).

Internship, Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute In Lipton Lab

Participated in research project to prevent neuronal apoptosis and to promote neuronal survival and outgrowth during normal aging and various cerebrovascular diseases, including cerebrovascular disease (stroke) and AIDS dementia by using basic molecular signaling pathways.
