Description: The Event Routing System used in Kemper makes it is possible that messages will be retrieved off of a given recipient's queue in an order that is different from the order in which the events were generated by the producing system. A number of recipients need to be able to ensure that they consume messages in the same order that those messages were generated. The Message Sequencer Service is developed to support any situation where messages may need to be consumed in the same order in which they are produced.

Description: The forms service is a ESB service which generates Policy, Claim and Billing document to be printed by an external print vendor. The service consists of the following components: Thomas Rules Engine, Thunderhead Document Producer, Post Processor, Print Bundler and Content Management System.

Project: Risk Vision

Description: Risk Vision is a suite of integrated risk management applications, which provide comprehensive support for enterprise-wide credit, market and liquidity risk management, as well as global limits management. The four separate applications comprising Risk Vision are RV Data, RV Analytics, RV Carma, RV Capital Calculator (Basel II Solution) and RV Limits.

The product is being re-architected using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to seamlessly integrate all applications of the suite. The tools used to enable SOA are Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), JIBX (tools for XML serialization and deserialization of Java POJO) and Java Data Objects (JDO).

Technical Responsibilities

●Involved in the Brainstorming for envisioning the Design and Architecture of Risk Vision Release 6.0

●Designed and developed the Middle Tier Framework for Risk Vision. The purpose of the framework is to facilitate business work flow, provide a web services gateway for the WinForms based Dot Net front end and integrate the C++ based engines.

●Identified and documented performance requirements, load balancing strategy and performance testing plan.

●Designed and developed the Business Object Repository for use across services.

●Involved in designing the Security Framework for the system. The framework used Kerberos for authentication, LDAP for storing authorization data and WS Security for communication between the Java middle tier and Dot Net front end.

●Helped architect eGlobe, a framework for rapid portal development.

●Designed and developed an XML caching framework. The database is used by multiple applications and is heavily loaded. The caching framework stores the data locally in XML and invalidates them based on time or change in data. The concept was designed as a result of performance analysis of the system.

●Developed a tool to monitor the caching performance of the system. This tool is a Java SWT desktop application which shows the size, number of hits on the above caching framework. Cache can also be invalidated using this tool.

●Developed a code generator for developing skeleton gears (portlets). This code generator generates the required Java classes, JSPs, CSS and configuration files. This reduces the lead time in developing a portlet.

●Developed the Data Access Layer using ATG Repository. The ATG Repository is an Object Relational Mapping tool. The DAL is used to provide a uniform interface to the repository and provided a utility to convert the repository objects into business objects.

●Developed Custom Tag Library for rapid development of gears (portlets). The custom tags provide standard forms for search, display results and provide navigational features.

●Designed and developed a REST (REpresentational State Transfer) based web service to distribute business news across the organization.
