Re: CIO / CTO / IT Director / IT Manager Position Position:
I have extensive experience in all facets of Information Technology. As a technology manager, my primary responsibilities have been the overall management of the Information Technology Function for various multi-billion dollar domestic and international corporations.
I have spent the last twenty years in the Healthcare Industry. First as a consultant, providing management and technical consulting services to two hospital corporations, associated medical practices, and medical services companies and then as Regional Technology Director for the Florida Region of Iasis Healthcare including their owned physician’s practices.
In addition, I formally held the position of Vice President of Computer Services for JWT Group, parent company of such companies as J Walter Thompson Advertising and Hill & Knowlton Public Relations, until the acquisition of the company by WPP Group, PLC. As a result of the acquisition, the entire JWT Corporate Information Technology Department was eliminated. Subsequently, as the senior IT Executive at JWT Group, I was contracted by the successor company to provide IT consulting services to the various subsidiary companies. I also have extensive Banking, Retailing, Manufacturing, and Distribution experience having managed technology departments in those industries.
My formal education includes a BS in Computer Science from a top ten engineering school as well as numerous specialized management and technical courses.
If I were to differentiate myself from other candidates, I would say that I am a manager that is highly technical as opposed to the typical Information Technology Manager who I would describe as a technician that manages. As such I have been assigned Corporate Management responsibilities which have included participation in several Chairmen’s Committees responsible for two major corporate acquisitions and consolidations, as well as special projects both inside and outside of the Information Technology Department. In addition to my Information Technology responsibilities, I have been responsible for the construction and administration of various corporate facilities.
My specialty is utilizing technology in a cost-effective and efficient manner, tailoring the level of technology to a particular corporate culture while maintaining strict budgetary control and an exceedingly high level of customer satisfaction. I also have been extremely successful in developing the respect and the skill level of the people who report to me.
I look forward to hearing from you in the near future in order that we may more fully explore your requirements and my qualifications for this position.
Sincerely;
Robert S. Silver
